Aviation
Oman’s aviation industry continues to expand rapidly, driven by major investors linked to the country’s long‑term economic diversification and logistics strategy under Vision 2040. Recent national initiatives include the phased development of Airport City master plans at Muscat, Salalah and Sohar, which are expected to attract over USD 800 million in combined investment by 2030, positioning these gateways as integrated commercial and logistics hubs. The USD 1.8 billion terminal at Muscat International Airport remains the centrepiece of Oman’s aviation infrastructure, while Salalah Airport continues to enhance its cargo‑handling capabilities and advance its Airport City plans to support regional logistics growth. Duqm Airport similarly supports multimodal transport and industrial activity within the Duqm Free Zone, aligning with national logistics and industrial development objectives.
Oman is positioning itself as a regional leader in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), including eVTOL aircraft, air taxis, drone cargo systems and other next‑generation aviation technologies. In the past, the Sultanate has launched several major national programmes supported by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the Ministry of Transport, Communications & Information Technology (MTCIT).
