- Conducted an in-depth legal study of Oman’s insolvency, restructuring, and liquidation framework to assist domestic and international clients covering applicable statutory provisions, regulatory requirements, creditor rights, shareholder obligations, liquidation procedures, regulatory filings, employee-related considerations, asset realization mechanisms, cross-border implications, and potential risks.
- Acted for finance parties on the Sohar Power Company SAOG-Sohar IWPP Restructuring, being the first of its kind in Oman involving a public joint stock company’s corporate restructuring and financial recovery in Oman in relation to a financially distressed public company pursuant to the Bankruptcy Law of Oman RD 53/2019 which came into force in 1 July 2020.
- Acted for Jindal Steel Moon LLC on its landmark acquisition of all operating movable and immovable assets of Moon Iron and Steel Company S.A.O.C. (MISCO), one of Oman’s most significant distressed asset transactions which signifies AMJ’s capability on advising on complex restructuring and distressed M&A transactions.
- Acted for Omani creditors in the settlement of Omani NMC entities recovery claims and guarantees issued by NMC Healthcare Ltd., and on the acquisition of the Omani NMC entities by Tawoos Group, including the restructuring and reorganisation of outstanding liabilities.
