Projects and Energy
Our projects and energy practice is recognised for its depth of expertise and its involvement in many of the Sultanate’s most significant energy, infrastructure and industrial developments. Our team has advised on numerous innovative, first‑of‑a‑kind projects in Oman, giving us unparalleled insight into the country’s legal, regulatory and commercial project landscape.
Our experience spans the full range of major projects undertaken in Oman to date, including power and water, petrochemicals, oil and gas, alternative and renewable energy, heavy industry and manufacturing, transportation and logistics, telecommunications, and tourism and hospitality.
We act for major multinational corporate developers, sponsors, investors, commercial banks, lenders and financial institutions, government entities, project companies and construction companies across the full spectrum of the energy and infrastructure sectors, providing technically robust, commercially focused and strategically informed advice at every stage of development
We have unparalleled insight into Oman’s privatization, public–private partnership (PPP) projects and sector-specific regulatory frameworks supported by decades of involvement in the country’s most significant and innovative projects. Our experience includes advising on the Manah Power Project, the first independent power project in Oman and a landmark initiative that set the precedent for the PPP model subsequently adopted across the Sultanate’s power sector. This longstanding role has given us deep familiarity with sector‑specific regulatory regimes and the practical requirements of implementing large‑scale projects within Oman’s evolving legal and commercial environment
Working seamlessly with the Firm’s corporate, commercial and banking teams, we provide an integrated service across all stages of project development and financing. We advise on joint venture arrangements, project structuring, incorporation and regulatory approvals; EPC and construction contracts; development and land arrangements; legal due diligence; risk allocation; financing and security packages; and operational and maintenance frameworks.
We also support multinational developers and project lenders on Oman’s energy transition, including solar and wind projects, green and blue hydrogen, green ammonia, carbon capture and storage, and energy‑storage solutions. Our deep understanding of Oman’s evolving legal and policy framework enables clients to manage risk effectively and deliver compliant, bankable clean‑energy projects.
