Mr. Ishan Ahmad is an associate in the Commercial & Capital Markets Team and has a broad range of experience with mergers and acquisitions, corporate and commercial matters with a particular focus on acquisitions, mergers, corporate restructuring, and cross-border mergers and insolvencies in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, insurance, and fintech sectors.
He is qualified in both Civil and Common law. Before joining AMJ in 2023, Ishan gained valuable experience by practicing with a leading European law firm, where he provided consistent assistance and guidance to both international and European clients on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters.

- Representative (recent) transactions at AMJ include:
- Advised Electricity Holding Company SAOC (EHC) on corporate, regulatory, and commercial matters concerning its subsidiaries.
- Assisted Solar Wadi LLC, one of the first independent Omani power companies that invests in, builds, owns, and operates renewable energy power plants, in the development, financing, and implementation of solar power projects in Oman.
- Advised the developers of Oman’s first polysilicon production facility with a production capacity of 100 Kilotonnes Per Annum (KPTA) of high-purity silicon substrate to be established in the Sohar Freezone, including drafting the JV Agreement, Raw Material Purchase Agreement and Product Sales Agreement.
- Advised the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in respect of data center regulations.
- Advised, as local counsel, China National Petroleum on the acquisition of Daleel Petroleum LLC’s parent company by a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation and advised on the EPSA-based restrictions on the share transfer and concession assignment.
- Advised Musandam Power Company SAOG on its legal and contractual obligations resulting from a potential extension of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Oman Government.
- Conducted due diligence for a client with respect to the exploration and mining concession agreement for minerals and advised on the mining law in Oman.
- Advised on the development and lease agreement for a multi-specialty hospital.
- Advised a client on negotiating a natural gas procurement agreement with the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.
- Advised a client on negotiating a project usufruct agreement with the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones.

- Assisted Bain Capital with its proposed acquisition of a 55% stake in the leading services group House of HR (deal value 1.5 billion Euro);
- Acquisitions in the pharmaceutical sectors for a leading healthcare company for wholesale medical supplies & equipment, pharmaceutical distribution, and healthcare technology solutions (deal value 400M Euro);
- Assisting ENGIE with restructuring nuclear power plants in Belgium;
- Assisting shareholders of Cloostermans NV (a Belgian Robotics Company) in selling their stake to Amazon;
- Defending ALDI during the WireCard AG (German Tech Champion) fraud in Germany;
- Assisting a Biotech start-up in negotiations with investors and FDA certifications (deal value 600M Euro):
- Squeeze-out of minority shareholders of listed company (EURONEXT) for a leading healthcare company for wholesale medical supplies & equipment, pharmaceutical distribution and healthcare technology solutions (deal value 70M Euro);
