  • Successfully representing a construction company against another construction company in respect of a claim worth more than RO 2 million in a sub-contract dispute.
  • Has successfully defended a leading international auditing firm against a claim of RO. 12 million as damages allegedly suffered by the claimant on account of negligence of the auditing firm.
  • Successfully represented a publicly listed company against a Public Authority in arbitration under Omani Law, in respect of a rotation contract.
  • Successfully represented a leading international car manufacturer in a multi-million Omani Rial claim filed on account of an alleged unjustified termination of an agency agreement.
  • Jointly with the lead counsel from within the Firm successfully defended a public listed company against a claim of RO 5 million filed by a managing director of the company in respect of unjustified termination of his employment.
  • Jointly with the lead counsel from within the Firm successfully represented an international company before the Supreme Court in a dispute with respect to supplier contracts.
  • Acted for a local company against an international company in respect of a dispute arising from under a usufruct agreement for an amount of RO 20 million, before the Appeal and Supreme Court of Oman.
  • Defending an Omani construction company against a claim of US$27 million in relation to an oil and gas pipeline failure.

  • Acting for a number of foreign and local companies with respect to claims for breach of contracts relating to non-supply of services, delay in the supply of goods and services, defective / deficient supply of goods and services and claims for compensation on occurrence of force majeure events as provided for by contract;
  • Successfully defended 31 claims for compensation each for RO 100,000 against our client, an Insurance Company, for damage to the claimant’s homes caused by rock blasting during the building of the highway.
  • Successfully represented our client in a claim against an Insurance Company and obtained the court’s approval of the settlement of a high-value insurance claim in novel circumstances where the insured client had failed to pay the insurance premium upon renewal of the policy during which period of default a fire broke out and destroyed the insured factory.
  • Defended Air Services and Transport Company, against a claim filed by an Insurance Company.
  • CRIMINAL AND COMPLIANCE MATTERS:
  • Defending corporate and individual clients in cases of bribery, corruption, consumer protection, forgery, fraud, abuse of power/job position, breach of trust and bounced cheques etc under the Oman Penal Code.
  • Defended clients charged with various offences with regards to insider trading and fraudulent misrepresentation under the Oman Penal Code and the Capital Market Authority Law.
  • Acted for a client who was being investigated by the Public Prosecution on a charges of money laundering RO 37 Million and advising on the relevance of the allegations, as well as potential risks involved in the process.
  • ARBITRATION
  • Successfully represented an Omani Oil Company against a leading law firm in Oman in relation to a tenancy agreement in arbitration under Omani Law.
  • Successfully represented an employee on account of unjustified termination of employment against a limited liability company in arbitration under Omani Law.
  • Represented an international engineering company in an arbitration dispute relating to a claim for RO 5 million
  • Represented an international construction company in arbitration proceedings in defence of a claim filed by a subcontractor. In addition to succeeding in defending the claim, the claimant was required to reimburse all costs and expenses incurred by the client.
  • Represented an Engineering Consulting Company before the Appellate Court in a case for nullification of an arbitral award
  • LABOUR
  • Successfully represented a international client with an Omani presence in the Oil Industry in labour claims filed by 226 employees claiming salary benefits according to the salary schedule in the Company’s HR Manual.
  • Acted for an iron & steel company in relation to a labour claim filed by an under-performing employee claiming equality in salary and benefits as employees on a higher grade and for reinstatement in the Company’s services.
  • Successfully represented a well-known construction group in Cyprus, Greece and the Gulf States with an Omani presence against labour claims filed by 47 employees for unfair termination.
  • SHARIAH MATTER
  • Successfully represented clients before the Supreme Court in Shariah Law matters, in particular, with regards to nullification of marriage contracts and denial of parentage.
